Capt.Royce Dahnke was born and raised in Destin FL, is a 2nd generation Captain, and has over 25 years of saltwater fishing under his belt. His early years were spent with a 14 ft aluminum Jon boat in the bayou as his babysitter everyday. During high school years he began to seek something more challenging and looked to saltwater fly fishing as an avenue to begin a career and also to challenge himself daily. Captain Royce has a passion for helping his clients achieve their fly fishing or light tackle goals and wants to be with them and push them every step of the way.

Drew's passion for using fly rods to chase warm water species, especially bass, began when fishing the creeks and rivers of South Alabama as a kid. Growing up he was always playing and fishing in creeks...and now does the same in the East/Central region of Alabama.

When he moved to Auburn, Alabama for school, he began to discover the incredible bass fisheries in the piedmont regions of Alabama. After years of fishing, East Alabama Fly Fishing was born out of a desire to help others learn to fly fish for bass, as well as network with other anglers who enjoy using fly rods. His favorite species to fish for is the venerable Redeye Bass.

Jared DeRight, has over 25 years of combined angling and guiding experience. As a child growing up in the Midwest, he fished farm ponds, streams, and lakes for warm water species with gear. As years went on, he became very adept in chasing Bass and other species with conventional gear. His focus became preparing to fish tournaments for bass. Directions changed after Relocating to the southeast in the mid 2000’s. In 2008 he took a break from guiding and fishing in order to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. He became hooked on fly fishing in 2009 after fly fishing for the first time on the Hiwassee River located in East Tennessee. After spending as much of his free time on the water as he could, he started to realize there was nothing more fulfilling than guiding others. He attended the Sweetwater Guide school in 2017 and then Captains School to become a USCG Licensed Captain.

In 2017, Nathan found his calling working with Fish Denali Chulitna, floating and guiding the Alaskan Susitna River drainages northwest of Anchorage. He then came back to Atlanta to guide with Alpharetta Outfitters for trout and bass. Chasing dry flies has landed him in Idaho at Trout Hunter Lodge. It is hard to find anyone that loves a Laurel Fork 3wt the way Nathan does.
